Fresh Meat Delivered for  7K Meals in Yemen During Udhiyah

SANA’A, YEMEN June 21, 2025 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed fresh meat providing 7,126 meals to impoverished families across Yemen during the season of Udhiyah.

Approximately 1,063 families living in Alhudaidah, Marib, and Sana’a received fresh meat from locally-sourced, humanely-slaughtered cows. 

Many of the beneficiaries included orphans’ families, children, and women, according to Elora Bashir, senior manager of program operations at Baitulmaal. 

“For children who’ve lost parents and women struggling to feed their families, this fresh meat meant more than nourishment, it meant someone cares,” Bashir said. “It gave them a reason to smile on Eid.”

 According to UNICEF, more than 2.4 million children in Yemen are acutely malnourished, including over 500,000 suffering from severe acute malnutrition.

 In addition to providing fresh meat for Udhiyah, Baitulmaal has also distributed Ramadan food packages, delivered more than $4 million in medical aid, constructed solar-powered water wells, and provided emergency aid in Yemen. Fresh Meat for 2K Meals Provided in Nigeria 

KANO, NIGERIA June 20, 2025 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed fresh meat providing 2,000 meals to families across Nigeria during the Islamic season of Udhiyah.

Approximately 400 families living in Kano and Potiskum received fresh meat from locally-sourced, humanely-slaughtered cows. According to Ahmed Sherif, senior manager of international programs at Baitulmaal, most of the beneficiaries included widows, orphans, the elderly, and displaced people. 

“I’ll never forget the look in the eyes of our sisters and brothers, the gratitude, the relief,” Sherif said. “Just knowing they had something to share at their table on Eid made every effort worth it”.

According to the World Food Programme, more than 26 million people in Nigeria are projected to face food insecurity in 2025 due to conflict, inflation, and climate-related shocks, making seasonal support like Udhiyah distributions critical for vulnerable families.

Baitulmaal Provides 2K Meals in Togo for Udhiyah

LOMÉ, TOGO June 20, 2025 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed fresh meat that provided 2,000 meals to families across Togo during Udhiyah.

Approximately 400 families living in Lomé and Sakodé received fresh meat from locally-sourced, humanely-slaughtered cows. According to Ahmed Sherif, senior manager of international programs at Baitulmaal, most of the beneficiaries included widows, orphans, the elderly, and displaced people. 

“You could feel the weight lift, even just for a day,” Sherif said. “That’s what Eid is about,  joy, community, and compassion, and we’re humbled to be part of that.”

According to the World Bank, nearly 45 percent of Togo’s population lives in poverty, making food insecurity a persistent challenge.

Fresh Meat for 2K Meals Distributed to Families in Ghana During Udhiyah

ACCRA, GHANA June 20, 2025 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed fresh meat that provided 2,000 meals to families across Ghana during Udhiyah.

Approximately 400 families living in Accra, Kumasi and Tamale received fresh meat from locally-sourced, humanely-slaughtered cows. 

According to Ahmed Sherif, senior manager of international programs at Baitulmaal, most of the beneficiaries included widows, orphans, the elderly, displaced, and disabled people

“One father told us it was the first time in months his family sat together to enjoy a real meal with meat,” Sherif said. “This wasn’t just about food, it was a reminder of what it feels like to be cared for, and to be together.”

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), malnutrition affects nearly 19 percent of children under five in Ghana, making access to nutritious food like meat crucial for their growth and development.

Fresh Meat Distributed to 400 Vulnerable Families in Ivory Coast

ABIDJAN, IVORY COAST June 20, 2025 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed fresh meat that provided 2,000 meals to families across Ivory Coast as part of the Islamic season of Udhiyah.

Approximately 400 families living in Abidjan, San Pedro and Bouaké received fresh meat from locally-sourced, humanely-slaughtered cows. 

Many of the beneficiaries included displaced people, widows, orphans and the elderly, according to Ahmed Sherif, senior manager of international programs at Baitulmaal.

“In these holy days, sharing the blessings with others is part of our faith,” Sherif said. “The families we served, many of them widows, orphans, and displaced, felt seen, supported, and spiritually uplifted.” 

According to the World Food Programme (WFP), nearly 1 in 5 households in Ivory Coast face food insecurity, with vulnerable groups like orphans, widows, and displaced families bearing the brunt of these challenges.

Baitulmaal Distributes Fresh Meat for 3K Meals Across the United States

DALLAS, TEXAS June 14, 2025 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed fresh meat providing 3,570 meals to families across the United States during the season of Udhiyah.

Approximately 600 families living in Dallas received fresh meat from locally-sourced, humanely-slaughtered cows to celebrate Eid with dignity.

According to Elizabeth Sohail, senior manager of domestic programs at Baitulmaal, the majority of the beneficiaries were women, the elderly and children.​ 

“For many of the families we reached, this was their only chance to celebrate Eid with a proper meal,” Sohail said. “Thanks to our donors, we were able to offer that joy and dignity to our local brothers and sisters.”

According to the USDA, nearly 13.5 percent of U.S. households experienced food insecurity in 2023, meaning they lacked consistent access to enough food for an active, and healthy life.

Baitulmaal’s food distribution during the holy seasons of Ramadan and Udhiyah not only addresses the immediate needs of underserved communities but also promotes core Islamic values such as brotherhood, solidarity, and compassion. Baitulmaal has also been in the United States, delivering food packages to families in need during Ramadan season.

Baitulmaal Distributes Fresh Meat for 2,790 Meals in Nepal

NEPAL June 10, 2025 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed fresh meat that provided 2,790 meals to vulnerable families across Nepal during the Islamic season of Udhiyah.

Approximately 600 families received fresh meat from locally-sourced, humanely-slaughtered cows. 

According to Ahmed Sherif, senior manager of international programs at Baitulmaal, most of the beneficiaries included women, the elderly and children. 

“In the villages we visited, some families hadn’t eaten meat in months,” said Sherif. “To share a moment of joy and dignity with them during Udhiyah was deeply moving — it gave us all hope.”

According to Nepal’s National Statistics Office, approximately  one-fifth of the population lives below the national poverty line — with rates significantly higher in rural areas.

Fresh Meat for 2,500 Meals Distributed in Türkiye 

ISTANBUL, TÜRKIYE June 10, 2025 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed fresh meat that provided 2,500 meals to vulnerable families across Türkiye during the Islamic season of Udhiyah.

Approximately 500 families received fresh meat from locally-sourced, humanely-slaughtered sheep.

Baitulmaal Distributes Fresh Meat for More than 6K Meals Across Chad

N’DJAMENA, CHAD June 10, 2025 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed fresh meat that provided 6,000 meals to families across Chad during the Islamic season of Udhiyah.

Approximately 1,200 vulnerable families received fresh meat from locally-sourced, humanely-slaughtered cows and sheep. According to Ahmed Sherif, senior manager of international programs at Baitulmaal, most of the beneficiaries included the elderly, children and women. 

“This Udhiyah, thanks to our donors, families in Chad could experience the joy and generosity of the season,” Sherif said. “I saw children’s eyes light up as they received their meals, and elders smile knowing they are not forgotten.”

According to the World Food Programme, 3.4 million people in Chad are projected to face acute hunger during the lean season, with 1.9 million children under five suffering from acute malnutrition.

Baitulmaal Provides Fresh Meat to 2K Tanzanian Families in Need 

DODOMA, TANZANIA June 10, 2025 — Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently distributed fresh meat, providing 11,880 meals to impoverished families across Tanzania during Udhiyah.

Approximately 2,376  families received fresh meat from locally-sourced, humanely-slaughtered cows. 

According to Ahmed Sherif, senior manager of international programs at Baitulmaal, most of the beneficiaries included the elderly, people with disabilities, and children. 

“An elderly woman held her hands together and whispered her thanks,”said Sherif. “She hadn’t had a proper meal in days, and today she felt cared for and remembered.”

According to the World Bank, nearly 26 percent of Tanzania’s population lives below the national poverty line, highlighting the ongoing challenges many families face in accessing sufficient food and nutrition.
