SINDH, PAKISTAN May 20, 2024 – Baitulmaal, a Dallas-based international humanitarian nonprofit, recently completed the construction of a masjid in the village Sain Dino Jat, serving around 200 people.
According to Elora Bashir, senior manager of program operations at Baitulmaal, this donor-sponsored project aims to meet the community’s need for a safe and accessible place to gather, pray, and connect. It also includes a water well to provide the community with a clean and reliable source of freshwater.
“This isn’t just about a building—it’s about providing a safe, welcoming place where our brothers and sisters can come together,” Bashir said.
According to the World Bank, more than 75 percent of Pakistan’s population lives in rural areas, where infrastructure remains critically underdeveloped.
In addition to building a Mosque in Pakistan, Baitulmaal has also provided Ramadan food packages, and fresh meat for Udhiyah, installed a water filtration plant, delivered emergency aid to flood victims, and supplied winter aid.
